EKU's Semester System

Some institutions are on a "quarter" system with typical class lengths of 10 weeks. EKU is on a "semester" system with fall and spring term classes lasting 16 weeks. A typical term course load for a semester-based school is 15 - 16 credit hours.

Students transferring from schools with quarter-based systems will frequently find their transfer classes listed in credits with a decimal (e.g., 2.67). This problem can often be remedied by contacting the Advising Center (SSB 347) and talking with an advisor or the transfer coordinator.
