UWR.

Changes to POL Course Offerings
POL 210 & 211 are no longer offered. These courses satisfied
old "Area" Gen. Ed. categories 10 & 11. POL 212
(a course created last year in conjunction with new gen. ed.
requirements) is "non-equivalent" to POL 210/211 as
of the Summer 2007 term. It will not replace a previous grade
in POL 210/211, nor will it satisfy "Area" Gen. Ed.
categories 10/11. Students seeking exception to this should
be referred to Kelly Fox in the College of Arts & Sciences,
Roark 108.

Gen. Ed. Area 5 Action Matrix
Numerous updates have been sent over the past several months
related to Area 5 – Physical Education and Health –
in the old "Area" General Education requirements.
A matrix had been created that summarizes these changes. It
will quickly guide you in the appropriate actions to be taken
with any student who is under the old "Area" General
Education requirements and who has not yet satisfied Area 5
requirements. The matrix can be accessed at: http://www.advising.eku.edu/advising_handbook/forms/

Problems with Equivalent Courses
| Old Course |
is equivalent to |
New Course |
| HPR 180 (1 credit) |
|
PHE 180 (3 credits) |
| HEA 281 (2 credits) |
|
HEA 285 (3 credits) |
Students who have already taken HPR 180 and subsequently take
PHE 180 will replace the grade they got in HPR 180 with the
grade they get in PHE 180. The same holds true for students
who have taken HEA 281 and subsequently take HEA 285.
Students who need to take a course to satisfy "old"
gen. ed. category 19 (formerly satisfied by HEA 281) should
NOT take PHE 180 if they have already taken HPR 180. Instead,
they should take either BIO 310, HEA 285, or NFA 201.
